Introducing: Jake Tackett

Our newest Senior Experience Strategist and Capsule Crew member, Jake Tackett, opens up about life, love and the pursuit of brands. Well... at least, two of the three.

What brings you to Capsule?

Capsule offers a refreshing breath of air from the more cookie cutter corporate experience I’ve had. Capsule works with interesting brands, offers interesting and compelling design work, and really values their work/life balance, something that can get lost in the fray. I want to do great work and Capsule is doing that already!

Tell us about how you became interested in design!

I’m coming from a company that is known for its design which kicked off my love for design that’s not only beautiful, but accessibly designed. My mother has ALS and so many assistive devices are less than aesthetically pleasing. Her diagnosis really took me from a casual interest in design, to a more serious, professional interest. Design is only as good as it is accessible!

What experiences do you bring to Capsule?

I’ve facilitated learning for nearly a decade at my prior job and taught other facilitators how to take it to the next level. With that experience in client education, as well as many years in project management, I’m bringing an inquisitive mindset and a hunger for success.

What’s the most awkward movie you’ve ever seen with your parents?

American Wedding (2003)

On a scale of Jingle All the Way to Fargo, how Minnesotan is your accent?

I can do a mean Hotdish accent, but I’m naturally more “O Brother, Where Art Thou”.

Epic Gardening! They just acquired the seed company Botanical Interests who is widely known for their illustrative and stunning seed packets. Kevin Espirtu, the founder, is doing some great things with urban gardening and education as well!
