Introducing Kelly Leighton, VP of Client Experience

We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to the Capsule family, Kelly Leighton. Kelly brings over 15 years of experience in building and nurturing client relationships and creating meaningful connections. We are delighted to welcome her as our VP of Client Experience (and fellow brand nerd).

1. What brought you to Capsule, Kelly?
The Capsule conversation began over a fortuitous cup of coffee with Aaron Keller. I was certainly familiar with Capsule’s work, but the more I learned about the internal culture and their approach to brand strategy – bringing people and brands closer together through meaningful moments and authentic interactions – I knew I wanted in. I guess I impressed the right people (and it probably didn’t hurt that I paid for Aaron’s coffee), but luckily, I’m now officially part of the Capsule team.

2. Why are you interested in the world of branding and design?
In a society increasingly filled with inauthentic, inconsistent and dishonest approaches to “marketing”, I’m drawn to the idea that brands can truly connect people through designed moments, unique storytelling and kept promises. I’m inspired by the collaborative efforts of the design community to creatively and innovatively integrate the human experience into branding strategy. And my hope for my new role in the world of branding and design is to aptly represent these collective, creative minds with our business partners and clients.

3. What experience do you bring to the Capsule team?
I bring over 15 years of experience in the sports, events and hospitality sectors, specifically, in the areas of PR, marketing and sponsorship. From my time building relationships with national media (and matching wits with the likes of Charles Barkley and Magic Johnson) as a publicist with Turner Broadcasting/Turner Sports; to working with household brands in the professional sports and hospitality industries; to my most recent role helping design and execute event experiences for corporate clients, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with global brands, across a variety of industries, to create memorable moments and measurable value. I look forward to sharing those experiences with the Capsule team and through those experiences, strategically evaluate new business opportunities and partnerships.

4. Go-to karaoke song?
“Jump” – Van Halen (of the David Lee Roth era).

5. What do you do when you’re not at work?
When I’m not hosting post-dinner dance parties with our vivacious 2 and 4 year-old kiddos, or binge-watching Game of Thrones and Billions, you’ll find me lacing up my Hokas for an endorphin-filled run along the Luce Line.

6. Life motto?
Laugh often.

7. What are you passionate about?
Open-mindedness, equal opportunity and the perfect, fried egg.

8. Hidden talents?
I have an uncanny ability to accurately identify the song and artist of most 80’s music, within the first 30 seconds of hearing it.
